of good friday's and cheng beng
first of all, most of my older frens would know that i memang already got a blog using this address and was left idle for sometime, so i deleted it and somewhat somehow the urge to blog comes back after a while so i used frenster blog instead. but frenster blog's limitation has driven me nuts and here i am resurrecting this old account again...hehe =P
okay what i have been up to...most of my mmu frens sure would love to know...first time after 2 years get to celebrate ching ming and good friday at hometown...feels just great eh..
anyhow..some pics..

the good friday candle..very meaningful eh... somehow when i ponder upon the scripture readings and with the candle...its really uplifting...as somehow, there is hope again...yeah! praise God!
ok the ching ming part...
as we all know the holy week last weekend was also around the ching ming week too...so 3 weekends was spent to visit graves of my late grandparents and great-grandparents....din have all d pics in my camera tho...so i only highlight those whoose pics i took.
.jpg)
my great grandparents from my fathers' father side...apparantly my great grandpa who was a wealthy merchant had 2 wives...his first wife was too from a well-to-do family with those small bounded legs type while his second wife is actually the first wife's 'jaga' or u know...in those old china drama's, the queens usually got a few 'dayang-dayang' to accompany everywhere and anywhere...i still got the 80+ yrs old pics of my bounded feet great grandma...her feet is smaller than my palms i think...haha...will scan it up 1 day to digitalize them
now this is my great grandma, which is my father's maternal grandmother. the interesting thing about her is she is a pure nyonya lady and speaks no chinese...only english, hokkien and malay. their family too was well off all the whole and had been in borneo for quite sometime already. she even gave english names to my aunts and my dad!
her husband is a catholic tho...buried in a catholic cemetry not far away...posted d pics up on my frenster blog already i think..
although im a catholic but my dad's side of the family isnt, i still celebrate ching ming every year by visiting their graves and stuff....just that i dont go and pray to their gods..but i think respecting and knowing more about our ancestors is a really good thing and interesting too!
unfortunatelly, most of my great grandma's childrens converted to all sorts of christianity and some even went to the extent that visiting their mothers grave who is non christian is a sin! that is sooo wrong..haihz
didnt really took pics when we visited my maternal grandparents grave coz it was always a huge gathering and everyone busy talking to each other...din remember to take anything lo...
my closest grandpa..which is my dad's dad meanwhile...i did took quite a few photos with the digicam when we visited his grave but i plan to save it up for later post which i plan to dedicate in memory of him....altho it had been 8 years since he passed away but i still miss him very much eh...haihz..may his soul rest in eternal peace in heaven and so are the souls of my ancestors...
anyhow, i think i did promise that i will write about memories of melaka in my frenster blog...well i guess not now...hehe...havent really missed melaka yet =P
okie...till the next post...ciaoz~
