A tribute to my beloved datsun
that car was actually bought by my grandpa, aunt and dad...shared purchase la...last time very poor ba... but as time passes, 2 cars just weren't enough for my 2 working aunts, my dad and my grandpa to commute to work everyday. so they bought another car, a Toyota Corolla LE, 4 years later after the datsun. so the datsun eventually became my dad's.
7 years later....thats the grumpy little me and my grandad ;)
baru few months old already learning how to drive my future car ya...lolfew years later, during the early 90's my dad was transfered to sibu for 3 years. together with our only datsun, we drove to sibu and back to kuching uncountable times. the most memorable one was during our last trip back to Kuching, we overloaded the car and the tire puncher-ed twice! we waited for hours and my dad managed to get help from an army truck to ferry him to the nearest tire shop.
until 1996, my dad baru afford to buy another car, the proton wira which was sold a few years back. mum drives the wira and dad drove the datsun
few years later, ard 1998 i think my younger aunt got transfered to sibu. her Corolla LE wasnt fit enough to be driven there so our datsun was again driven to sibu. it was there for probably a year before my aunt had her own car fit enough to be driven there.
in 2001, mum bought her own car and dad changed the wira to the waja. the datsun wasnt sold..it was kinda neglected for a year plus. it became very hard to start and will not drive well unless you warm it up at least 30 minutes.

in 2004, before i got my licence, the datsun was sent for overhaul and a complete respray. and soon it was my first car.
so i drove it to school everyday. i skidded the car 360 degrees and nearing a nasty accident and i have been everywhere with it.
in 2005, the datsun was sent to semenanjung as i really needed a car there.
my datsun at the ever popular tourist spot...in front of the red house aka christ church melaka. park there as i was eating the cendol by the roadside
my car at mmu parking lot at 5.30 am! the only car there!
my datsun found its long lost twin in mmu too...how ironic...just look at the similarities in the first picture! its so almost the same! btw i was caught by the owner of the first datsun in the first pic taking pics of our cars...and guess what..the driver is a GIRL...lol! how memalukan
how many 28 year old cars can speed like my baby datsun huh? LOL.... only achievable in the expressway...no way it can be driven that fast in kuching...how sad..lol
my car in putrajaya at 3am in the morning in front of the palace of justice...hehe
my datsun at muar, johor...
along with simon's civic on top a hill (brothers bungalow) overlooking pantai kundur.
my car with its new 'original look' chrome light frame in front of my muzaffar heights house in melaka.during its life in melaka ive changed a few stuffs too
got the car a better branded cd player..my brandless chapalang cassette player was transferred into my aunts corolla LE.
okay this was my car's speaker, an old skool pioneer 3 way...its as old as the car i think...after all these years...the cone had hardened and dried up that when u touch it...terus it hancur -.-
it sounded so 'sharp' and totally incompatible to my new cd player so i got a set of JBL 3 ways that perfectly fitted the hole. it costs more than my cd player u kknow!!!
this is my car's original rear axle. btw, my car is running on the rear wheels instead of the normal front and this component is needed to transfer the engine power from the front to the rear wheels. the old one might look new and nice but inside its totally worn out...was super noisy and irritating. so i drove all the way to ampang, selangor to have it repaired by 1 of my fellow datsun club members mechanic. the new axle looks horrible outside but inside it is as quiet as dream. spent rm650 for the replacement -.-and after 2 years in west malaysia, i decided to leave the place for good and i was caught in the middle whether i should just sell off the car or send it back to kuching. eventually after much consideration, it was decided that the car is to be send back for good.
so until today...this little old datsun has served faithfully for 3 generations and counting. in conjunction with its 400000km anniversary, i gave the car a good cleanup took some pictures.

oh did i forgot to mention that i changed the rims too? changed it few days before i left melaka...but the rims arent good...its not meant for the car...aih so i guess i might be changing back to the original rims or something different soon.
anyhow...happy 400000km anniversary to my little datsun! =)

hi abubu,
i was pretty much in the same situation as you. In that i had to send over my honda crv from Tawau, SABAH to K.L. Knowing how you feel, i too drove everywhere. anywhere from genting, cameron, melaka, ipoh, and singapore. many of them with numerous trips and often fully loaded. clocking up 40,000km a year. its good to see some of your pics that brought back memories.
